Windows Automatic Updates

A feature introduced with Windows XP SP1 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 is Automatic Updates client. This is a client utility allowing you to download and install hotfixes automatically from the Microsoft Windows Update website.

However you can set up such a windowsupdate server yourself and direct all clients to your server. This is a great solution for enterprises with limited bandwidth. To set up your windowsupdate server you have to install Software Update Services on a Windows 2000 Server.
